Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway by Jeff Kinney

Book review by Alistair Hanna, age 9

The family fly away to Isla de Corales in a plane and it's Greg's first holiday. Despite this, he hated it! However, Dad (who got sick), Mum, Roderick and Manny loved their trip. He would have loved to tell Rowley about his trip.

I loved the way Greg made humour in his diary. He said that the iguana was a dinosaur from Jurassic World!

I have read all the books of the ‘Diary of the Wimpy Kid’ and what I like about them is that they have a mystery.

I didn't really dislike anything except for the drawings where people kissed.  But obviously, it was where Mum and Dad had had their honeymoon.

This book would probably be for 7+, but it does have words that even I (9 years old) cannot understand. It is also a comic book for older ones too. This book individually has dangerous activities like dolphin rides that you wouldn't like your four-year-old doing.

I am rating this book 10 out of 10! If Jeff Kinney is reading this I just want you to know… I love your books.
