“Granny's False Teeth”

One sunny day, Granny woke up to sunlight shining through the curtains, she smiled and stretched and thought to herself, what a wonderful day it is going to be.

She sat up and swung her legs over the side of her bed. She reached out and picked up her glasses and put them on, she then reached out again to pick up her teeth, but couldn't find them. She looked all over the bedside cupboard and on the floor but they were gone!

First, she looked under her bed because if they fell on the floor they could have rolled under her bed but they weren't there. Oh no, she thought. Where could they be? Then she looked in her wardrobe, they weren't in there either. She opened her drawers and had a look through her underwear. "No, not there!" She went into the bathroom and looked in the bin. "They are not here!" She slowly opened the toilet lid and peeked in. "Glad they are not in there," she whispered. She then went into the front room and stood looking around. She went over to the sofa and got down on her knees and looked under the sofa, lots of dust and... "Oh, what's that?" She smiled as she saw something under the seat.

She reached under and pulled out... a book! "Oh that's where you went," she said to the book. "You're not my teeth though are you?" She sighed and got back onto her feet.

She went into the kitchen and looked in the toaster, the microwave, the oven, the fridge, the sink, the cupboards, the drawers and the dishwasher!

"No, no, not in there, not here, not over there, my teeth are not anywhere!"

She went and put the kettle on, checking for her teeth before she put it on! Made herself some tea and went to sit back down on the sofa.

"Oh, Mittens," she said to her black cat that was curled up on the seat next to her. "Where are my teeth?" The cat purred a happy purr. "Do you know where my teeth could be?"

Mittens slowly looked up at Granny and smiled a huge, white, shiny, sparkly, false teeth grin!
