Melanie Chadwick, teacher, wished for two storytelling chairs; one for indoors and one for outside to spark off imaginations and help pupils get creative. Two fantastic storytelling chairs are on the way to Benfield School. We hope staff and pupils enjoy the new additions! (We'd love to see a photo of them in use!)
Tania wished for a trampoline for her three children. A lovely, bouncy trampoline with a safety enclosure and a ladder is winging its way to Hertfordshire!
Halima wished that: “One day we (Halima and her cousin Fatimah) can visit The Harry Potter Studio in London for a day as we are both the biggest Harry Potter fans in the world. We are obsessed with all of the books, not to mention the movies, and we have never visited it before. We will be very happy and excited if our wish comes true!”
Halima said: “I am delighted that I have won! Thank you so much for making my wish come true!”
Zahra wished for a manga writing and drawing set, so that she could create her own manga book.
Khadijah wished for several YouTubers' books: “Girl Online” and “Girl On Tour” by Zoella (published by Penguin Books), “Hello Life” by Marcus Butler (published by Headline), “The Amazing Book is Not on Fire” by Dan and Phil (published by Ebury Press) and “Self-Help” by Miranda Sings.
Esther wished for her school to get lots of brilliant writing materials such as writing pads, pens, pencils and lots of new, fun books!
Ffion wished for Revise Edexcel GCSE Mathematics Spec A Higher Revision Guide books for her school, because “maths is vital and will help set us up for a good future and GCSE.”
Dmitrijs wished to surprise his Year 5 teacher and teaching assistant with a present as they are the best teachers in the world!
Abigail wished for “some footballs and bibs so the boys can play properly, they have been using soft balls, which have blown the wrong direction and blown over the fence!”
Joshika wished for new Rainbow Magic books and Poetry Rivals 2015 – Moments in Rhyme, in which Joshika's poem features, for his class.
We've sent Pelican Class the latest 3 series of Rainbow Magic books (Series 21-23) as well as 2 copies of Poetry Rivals 2015 – Moments in Rhyme.
Zofia wished for some new books and a book writing set so she can write her own book. We've sent Zofia some notepads, Laura Ashley pens and some fantastic new fiction.
Melanie wished for some posters, plants, bright cushions and decoration for their very small library.
“We have had a new library area sectioned off from a corridor. We have some books, but no one uses the library – it seems unloved. My wish is for someone to help make our library love-able!”
Sulayman wished to have some poems published.
“I try so hard with poems so that others may read them and understand the words I have written. This is my goal for writing poems – so that others may learn something or understand something new. Is that not the purpose of life, to learn new things? Furthermore, I really just want people to connect with me and see things from my individual perspective. I hope many people can read something I crafted and gain something new in terms of their life. I have always wanted to help others in some way and write kind words to aid kind hearts.”
We have 2 very special wishes in progress for these young writers. These wishes are taking a while to organise, but please watch this space as we will announce the wish recipients and details of their wishes here over the next few weeks.
