Free Live Poetry Workshop
This year we have one online FREE live poetry workshop with Mark Grist aimed at 6-12 year-olds.
When: Tuesday 19th September 2023 at 9.30am to 10.20am
Where: Via Teams
The workshop will help your pupils write their "This Is Me" recipe poems. They'll learn the structure of a recipe poem, how to include metaphors, connectives, prepositions and onomatopoeia, as well as touch on rhyme, before writing their own recipe poems.
Mark will have an 8-line model poem to guide your pupils as well as an extension activity & differentiation options so you can get all your pupils involved & excited about poetry writing.The video will also be available as a recording from 20th September to the 31st October 2023 on the Young Writers YouTube channel.

Who is Mark Grist?
Mark Grist is an ex-teacher, poet, rapper & children's book author based in Peterborough in the UK. Over the past ten years he has won various slams, titles and awards for his work and has gained over 40 million views for his poetry & rap videos online.
Mark is also Young Writers' independent competition judge.
