Young Writers' My First Story competition is now open!
This competition has been developed to help broaden your pupils' writing skills, whilst being inspiring and fun. Seeing their work in print has been proven to help boost children's confidence in creative writing.
It's easy to take part...
Using the story starter, explain to your class how a storyboard works.- Give each child one of the five storyboards provided and ask them to complete the story by looking at the pictures and telling the story in their own words. (each pupil must complete their story on a storyboard entry form).
- Send a completed school entry form along with your pupils' stories to the freepost address.

- Develops writing and creative skills.
- Supports Key Stage 1 learning objectives.
- Each story is selected for publication on the basis of imagination, expression and writing ability.
- Selected entrants will have the opportunity to have their story published alongside their peers and other children around the country.
