So, the last time I spoke to you guys... was December? And, since then a lot of things have happened. For instance, Christmas. Over the Christmas period, lots of out of the ordinary things happen - like, schools decorate the halls (with boughs of holly, tralalalalalala!) and assemblies, pantomimes, trips... all of these things, I am about to mention...
One. Assembly's. Many schools will have assemblies around Christmas about presents, holidays, parties... but our school, well, we had... an assembly and a half. We had an assembly on achievements and presents. Such a boring thing you're probably thinking but no, it actually wasn't! Our teachers threw some jokes in... cheesy as mad but, you know!
Two. Pantomimes. Many people watch pantos outside of school... our school took 60 children on a trip to see Aladdin. This, was VERY VERY fun, and extremely festive. I enjoyed it SO much!
Three. Trips. Around Christmas there are a lot of school trips... and I mean a lot. People going on celebration trips... People going on educational trips... the lot... but don't get jealous... IT'S POINTLESS!
Personally, I think Christmas is a mad time... but enjoy it, it doesn't last long!
January.
The sales, going back to school... well we all hate the second one! I mean, I love school... but I don't want to go back after the holidays... no one does... (not even the teachers.) So, in these next two paragraphs I'm going to say things to look forward to school for. And things that you need to be careful about...
Well, guessing you have friends, you get to see the ones you haven't seen over the holidays. Boyfriend/ Girlfriend... Your crush... the lot. You get to talk about all your adventures over the holidays and things like that... also, there are things to look out for like:
-
Grouchy teachers...
-
Grouchy students...
-
LOADS of homework...
-
Start/End of term tests...
As I said... the list goes on. However, referring back to Cheetahs and Zebras (blog 3) - the Christmas and after period, is not a good time for Zebras. For a few reasons. The Cheetahs are getting hyped about valentines and NEED a boy or a girl to go out with them. So, if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend and you are a Zebra... that's fine. If you don't but you like someone, be warned. Major heart breakage could be in your close future...
As if that wasn't enough... there is also what me and my friends call the Rush. Basically when it's been a LONG holiday and people have had parties and things, they come back to school and treat it and everyone in it like they are at a drunken party (Cheetahs/Lions). This is not rare, be warned. It seems to take everyone a while to settle back in, especially the years above! It's almost as if you can write January off for actually getting down to school work!
And then there's the occasional weird happy teacher... if you discover one, DON'T IGNORE IT! Make the most of it because it doesn't happen until you get closer to the summer holidays normally! Treat this happy teacher creature with respect and try to get the happiness to last into February - smile at it, talk nicely to it, it won't bite.
