Magnificent Mums

'Mum', 'Mummy', 'Mother' - whatever name you use, your mother figure plays an important role in your life. Always present when you need her, offering love and support, Mum devotes her time to her children. She goes through life giving selflessly but not always receiving the praise she deserves. With Mother's Day upcoming in March, we want you to send in your poetry in celebration of your mother or mother figure, because a mum can come in many forms. It could be a step-mum, grandmother or female figure who has always been there for you.

What would you like to say to her? Would you like to give thanks for all the things she's done for you or tell her why she is such a huge part of your life? What is it about her that is so special and makes her better than the rest? Whatever you would like to write for her, we want you to be a part of this tribute to motherhood.

We will select our favourite poems for inclusion in a special anthology and select one winner who will win a luxury bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates to be sent to a person of their choice. Poems should be no longer than 30 lines and should have a completed entry form attached.

The closing date for this competition is 30th March 2012.
