Welcome to Young Writers - Young Writer's Competition Information
Here at Young Writers we run writing competitions from nursery age up to 18.
If you like writing poetry and enjoy creative writing in general then take a look at our current competitions. You can send us a poem in any style and on any theme. If you would like to write a poem but need a bit of help, try taking a look at our workshops - a poetic form will be explained and then you can try to write one yourself.
Where possible we encourage you to enter through your school so they can be awarded a free copy of the book their pupil(s) are published in. We do except independent entries and entries from overseas too - simply write your poem, include your name, age and address and send it to us, ensuring you tell us which competition you are entering. If your poem is chosen for publication we will write to you after the closing date.
Our editorial team reads EVERY poem that we receive and all entrants are judged on imagination, perception and interpretation of poetry as well as technical ability. Age and any learning difficulties we are made aware of are also taken into consideration.
