Congratulations to our school winners!

Our 2008 Mini Saga Creative Writing Competition was a huge success and we’d like to thank all the pupils who participated as well as all the staff who organised the entries.

We are delighted to announce the school winners as …

Wilmslow High School wins Mini Sagas 2008

£1,000 1st Prize
Awarded to Wilmslow High School, Cheshire
Their pupils’ work features in Mini Sagas 2008 - Cheshire

"The competition, entitled 'Mini Sagas', involved writing a short story using no more than 50 words. The response from students was staggering and the English teachers were overwhelmed by the quality of the work that students produced. Teachers of Modern Foreign Languages also opened up the competition to their students and entries arrived in French, German and Spanish from students. An anthology of the very best work was sent off to be judged and the team were absolutely delighted to find out that they had won first prize and were to receive a cheque for £1000. The money is to be spent on developing the team's reading passport scheme and in offering future incentives for creative writers both in English and modern foreign languages."
