Here at Young Writers we have been working closely with schools for the past 19 years by promoting the reading, writing and enjoyment of poetry and creative writing through our annual competitions. We offer schools and pupils the chance to be involved in a fantastic creative writing experience; from writing a poem or story to seeing that work printed in a book (a book you can buy in a high street bookshop!). Over a decade of our titles are in the National Archives at the British Library in London, which we add to each year!

We all know how important literacy, English language and literature skills are and at Young Writers we champion creativity and imagination, and urge everyone old and young to put pen to paper regularly! We love nothing better than hearing how the most reluctant writer is now enjoying creative writing thanks to the confidence boost participating in one of our competitions gave them.

We hope our parent section will help you continue to support your child’s creative writing. Our workshops are a fun way to involve all the family in an educational activity. At the office, we all agree there is nothing better than sharing a story with the kids, whether you read to them or vice versa. Check out our recommended reads as even the most unenthusiastic reader is sure to show an interest in these! Forward Press is a short run digital printers and we publish the majority of our titles on site. There are many strings to Forward Press' bow - from writing and publishing Scribber! and Wordsmith magazines to creating Leavers' Books for schools and fun activities for after school clubs to do.
