My First Riddle is our KS1 poetry writing competition this term. My First Riddle has been carefully tailored to complement Key Stage 1 Learning Objectives and it's easy to integrate into lessons using the lesson plan we have designed for this purpose. Alternatively, this project makes an ideal homework or wet playtime activity. Our lesson plan has been tried and tested by Sawtry Infants' School, Huntingdon and further examples of their riddles can be seen using the link below.

We award £1,000 to the best school in the series and we're also giving away £200 in book tokens to our favourite little poets. We also award every pupil who enters a special My First Riddle bookmark and those selected for publication receive a certificate of merit. Every participating school receives a complimentary copy of the book their pupils feature in.
