How to Write a Mini Saga: An Easy Guide For Pupils
Writing a good mini saga is harder than it looks! Although they can be on virtually any theme, all mini sagas must abide by these three golden rules.

The Three Golden Rules of Mini Saga Writing
  • Mini sagas must be no more than 50 words, excluding the title.
  • TELL A GOOD STORY: A mini saga must be a proper story. This can be hard in only 50 words but make sure your saga has a beginning, middle and an end.
  • BE ORIGINAL!: We don’t mind if you are inspired by other famous stories. You could do a funny version of a fairy story or retelling a myth or legend, but the mini saga must be in your own words.

Some Tips
That’s all very well, of course. But how should you go about writing a mini saga?
One good way is to generally think of a story that you would like to read.
Write it or type it out.
Shorten it! Cut out any words that seem unnecessary or sections the story could do without.
Now count the words!
You will probably find it is still more than 50 words. At this point you may need to amend, cut and delete sentences to get it down to the magic 50-word limit. Be brutal! It will be worth it
