Throughout your involvement with Young Writers you may come across terms that may be unfamiliar, or need further explaining. Here we have attempted to clarify the more common terms, but we are only a phone call away if you require further help!

Forward Press Ltd
Forward Press Ltd is the parent company of Young Writers. All cheques should be made payable to Forward Press Ltd and credit cards will be debited by Forward Press Ltd. If this name appears on your statement it is for the Young Writers' books you have ordered. Visit their website: www.forwardpress.co.uk
Personal Details
We can assure you that we will not pass on any of your details to third parties. From time to time we may send you details of Forward Press’ competitions, products and services, to opt out please tick the box at the bottom of the checklist on the Acceptance/Copyright form.
Acceptance/©Copyright
A parent or guardian needs to sign the Acceptance/©Copyright form to confirm that the poem/story is the work of the named author. It is essential that the signed form be that returned to us by the deadline date given in your letter, otherwise we will be unable to include the poem/story in the book. If you fax the copyright to us, we will only process an order if you state clearly, that you will not be sending the hard copy via post. After publication the copyright remains with the author. Please do not order online if you have not returned your Acceptance/©Copyright form to us, as an order does not ensure inclusion in the publication.
Typeset Copy
Please read through the typeset copy of the poem/story very carefully, and mark any corrections clearly. If possible use red ink or any colour other than black.
Please do not use correction fluid - the editing team needs to see what has been done incorrectly in order to give proper instructions to the typesetters. The typeset copy should be returned to us, with the Acceptance/copyright, by the deadline date given in your letter.
Errors
If we have made any errors in either the name or address, please let us know so that we can put it right. The easiest way is to mark any changes on your Acceptance/Copyright form before you send it back. If there is an error on your certificate, please mark the correction needed, return it to us, and we'll send you a new certificate.
Deadlines
Our editorial, typesetting, design and production teams all work to schedules which are dependent on each other, so it's important that everyone sticks to their deadlines! Please write the deadline date given in your letter in your diary or calendar, to ensure we receive your materials on time. Return your paperwork to: Young Writers, Remus House, Coltsfoot Drive, Peterborough PE2 9JX.
Book Prices & Ordering
Young Writers' anthologies are unique and personal titles of unknown poets that are produced to a high standard in small print runs. The price of each title reflects the overall quality of the product and the costs involved. We do encourage parents and schools to make use of the pre-publication 3 for 2 offer. By ordering books before they are published you are entitled to a pre-publication discount and can take advantage of our 3 for 2 offer! By accepting orders early, we can budget our print runs and guarantee you your order. Please note you will receive your order within 28 days of the publication date to the delivery address specified on your Acceptance/©Copyright form; ordering early doesn't mean you will receive your book(s) before the publication date. Remember if you have any questions regarding this or any other
matter please feel free to Contact Us . A member of our team will be more than happy to help you.
Direct Payment Orders
Should you wish to place an order by direct payment into our account then please Contact Us for further details on how to proceed. Paypal is available for those ordering outside of the UK, details will be provided upon request.
Delivery Address
The address on your copyright form is the address we will be using to deliver your books. Please make absolutely sure it is correct and amend if necessary. Where possible we would prefer to have your home address details over a school address in order to provide the most efficient level of delivery.
Publication & Delivery
Books are scheduled for final production in the month stated in your letter. If you have ordered books, they will be despatched to you shortly after they are delivered from production. Small parcels are despatched via Royal Mail and normally take 3-4 days. Larger parcels are sent via courier service, which takes 2-3 days. Most books will arrive sooner but we do ask people to allow up to 28 days for delivery. Please give us a call if you have any concerns and don't forget to let us know if you move house before your books are due to arrive! If your order is despatched to your old address because we have not been informed, we will have to recharge postage costs before the parcel can be resent.
Customs Disclaimer
In some cases customs charges may apply to packages being delivered to non EU countries. We do supply the relevant paperwork when shipping your order but parcels are being checked more frequently due to increased security, as terrorism becomes more of an issue. We cannot be liable for any additional customs charges made on your package as these charges are completely beyond our control.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded shortly after the final book in the series is published. Each competition offers different prizes to schools and pupils, full details of which are in the packs sent to schools and are always available on request.
Schools
Schools are contacted with a list of selected pupils shortly after acceptance letters are sent to parents/guardians. Upon publication the school will receive a complimentary copy of the book featuring their pupils’ work.
