Here at Young Writers we have been working closely with schools for the past 19 years by promoting the reading, writing and enjoyment of poetry and creative writing through our annual competitions. We offer schools and pupils the chance to be involved in a fantastic creative writing experience; from writing a poem or story to seeing that work printed in a book (a book you can buy in a high street bookshop!). Over a decade of our titles are in the National Archives at the British Library in London, which we add to each year!

This section of our site is just for you guys, the writers and the poets, not teachers or parents! We provide you with links to our current competitions, (you don't have to enter through your school, but if you do they'll receive a free copy of the book any of their pupils feature in and you could win them a cash prize!), fun workshops for you to try your hand at different writing activities and our recommended reads for you to check out from the new to classics! We update our recommendations each month, so be sure to pop by again - if you have a recommendation do let us know and we'll do our best to feature it, better still send us your review. Young Writers is part of Forward Press, our parent company. Forward Press is a short run digital printers and we publish the majority of our titles on site.
